Community Support

DLC’s Community Support programmes are designed to provide community care and assistance to people with learning disabilities and Autism. Our programmes help them build better lives filled with dignity and independence while avoiding social isolation.

The key goal of DLC’s Community Support is to allow people with learning disabilities to determine the life they want to live and strengthen their community of family and friends.

Community Support services:

  • We’ll evaluate your needs and tailor a plan to help you remain engaged and active in your community.
  • Connect you with a professional volunteer or Community Support Worker who will assist you with things that you do not feel secure doing on your own.
  • Provide one-on-one practical assistance and emotional encouragement to combat feelings of isolation or loneliness
  • Recreational, occupational, educational and cultural activities: day trips, talks, games and social event.

We work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with health and social care qualifications that can be relied upon to deliver specialised community and individual support.
